Sixth Grade make it 4 in a row

A close game with only one goal scored, but the team did enough to take out the title. All the support from family and players got us over the line. Thanks in particular to the Maitland PHL boys for being there. It was appreciated.

Norths comfortably beat The Entrance to take out the PHL Premiership.

Congratulations to Peter Urquhart who was the PHL player of the season. Well deserved Peter!

Results for Finals

Sunday September 16

6th Grade 4 V Cardiff 1

2nd Grade 2 V Souths 3 in extra time. The boys were unlucky to lose having had a great season again. Next year they’ll make it.

5h Grade 1 V Wests 3. The team didn’t play as well as they have done recently, but they had a great year after a slow start.

PHL V The Entrance – Maitland were down 2-0 at half time. In the second half they came back and were leading 3-2 with 3 minutes to go. Then The Entrance scored and it went into extra time. No goals after 2 periods and then it went to penalty strokes. Not a good way to lose especially when it looked as if they had the game in the bag. Still, a great season and they got very close to making the Grand Final. However, they did eliminate Souths who won’t be in the Grand Final for the first time in 15 years. The last two games in particular have been fantastic to watch. Well done Bakes and all the team. See NBN News http://www.nbnnews.com.au/index.php/2012/09/17/entrance-win-hockey-thriller/
