Maitland District Hockey Club

The Rams champion Third Grade team easily accounted for Souths to take out the Grand Final in front of a large group of Maitland supporters on Fordys Hill. The Rams won 4-1 following on from a great win over Minor Premiers, Port Stephens in the semi final. Well done to all the team. They won with great defence against a much younger and faster outfit and some wise heads in attack resulting in some of the best goals seen all year. Striker Nathan Bakes bagged a hatrick while Leigh Munro also scored . The win was dedicated to Rams stalwart Matt Ford. Get well soon Fordy. You are needed in 6th rate next season.

Oh well! 4 major premierships in a row then a couple of years getting into the finals. We are getting older but still very competitive. Let’s support 3rd Grade next Saturday in the Grand Final at 11.30am.
